Kapil Sharma’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is getting a second chance at the box office. The comedy sequel, which hit theatres on December 12, struggled to find breathing room amid the massive wave created by Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar. Now, the makers have officially announced a re-release in January 2026, hoping for a fairer run this time around.

Why the Film Is Returning to Theatres

When Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 arrived, it walked straight into a crowded December window. Dhurandhar, released a week earlier on December 5, was already dominating screens and audience attention with record-breaking collections.

According to the makers, the Kapil Sharma starrer suffered due to limited screen availability, as multiplexes prioritised bigger releases. Despite the constraints, the film opened at ₹1.85 crore on Day 1 and has so far collected ₹12.31 crore in India, as per Sacnilk.

In an official statement, the team said that even with fewer shows, the film managed to connect with audiences through its light-hearted humour and franchise familiarity. Taking fan interest into account, producer Ratan Jain has decided to bring the film back to cinemas in January 2026. The exact release date will be announced soon.

About Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2

The sequel features Kapil Sharma alongside Hira Warina, Ayesha Khan, Tridha Choudhury, Manjot Singh, and Parul Gulati. The film is produced by Ratan Jain, Ganesh Jain, and directed by Abbas-Mustan.

Like the original 2015 hit, the sequel leans heavily into confusion-driven comedy. The first film revolved around Kapil’s character being married to multiple women, a setup that became a surprise box office success and helped establish Kapil Sharma as a big-screen comic lead.

What Worked the First Time Around

While box office numbers didn’t fully reflect it, reviews highlighted the film’s strengths. Critics pointed to Kapil Sharma’s effortless comic timing, his chemistry with Manjot Singh, and the nostalgic presence of late actor Asrani, whose performance added warmth and familiarity.

The ensemble cast and situational humour were widely seen as the film’s biggest assets — elements the makers are banking on for the re-release.

Final Words

Re-releases are becoming a strategic move in today’s crowded theatrical landscape, and Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 is now hoping for redemption away from blockbuster competition. With a calmer release window and renewed buzz, Kapil Sharma’s comedy could finally get the audience attention it missed the first time around.

Whether the second innings changes its box office fate remains to be seen — but January 2026 will give it a fair shot.
