Brad Pitt Scores Fresh Win in Miraval Fight as Angelina Jolie’s Legal Battle Keeps Expanding

Even though Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie officially ended their marriage in 2024, one chapter of their story refuses to close. The former Hollywood power couple is still locked in a complicated legal struggle over Château Miraval, the French winery they once built together. What started as a disagreement over ownership has now turned into a years-long courtroom fight that continues to produce new twists. The latest development has handed Pitt an important victory, but the wider dispute remains far from settled.

New Court Order Gives Pitt More Room to Investigate Winery Sale

A Michigan court recently sided with Brad Pitt in a key part of the ongoing Miraval case. The ruling focuses on Todd Culyba, a former legal executive connected to the Stoli Group, whose company became involved after Angelina Jolie sold her stake in the winery back in 2021. During an earlier deposition, dozens of questions reportedly went unanswered after objections were raised over attorney-client privilege. Pitt’s legal team argued that those questions were important to understanding how the transaction was structured and who was involved behind the scenes.

The judge agreed that certain business-related matters should not be shielded under privilege claims and ordered Culyba to return for another deposition. That means Pitt’s lawyers will now get another opportunity to ask questions regarding the sale and any related business discussions. The ruling is being viewed as a meaningful step for Pitt’s side, especially since the actor has long argued that Jolie should not have sold her ownership stake without his approval. Jolie, however, has consistently denied that any binding agreement prevented her from making the sale.

Jolie’s Earlier Victory and New Problems Surround Pitt

Interestingly, this legal win comes only weeks after Angelina Jolie celebrated one of her own. A California judge recently rejected an effort by Pitt’s team to obtain private communications connected to the winery dispute. Jolie’s attorneys argued that the emails were protected by attorney-client privilege, and the court ultimately agreed. While the decision does not permanently block future requests, it represented a significant setback for Pitt’s attempt to access those documents.

Outside the winery battle, Pitt is dealing with another legal headache involving his skincare venture, Beau Domaine. A California-based skincare company has accused the actor’s brand of creating confusion because of its similar name and has reportedly filed a lawsuit seeking damages along with restrictions on future branding use. At the same time, public attention has continued to shift toward the former couple’s children, several of whom have increasingly chosen to use the Jolie surname in public appearances and professional credits. Nearly a decade after Pitt and Jolie separated, the legal disputes, business disagreements, and family developments connected to the pair continue to attract widespread attention across Hollywood and beyond.
