Alliance is officially coming back much sooner than viewers might have expected. Prime Video has confirmed that Alliance Season 2 will premiere on January 14, 2027, exclusively on the streaming platform, with Kunal Kemmu returning as host.
The renewal arrives less than six months after the first season concluded its run in August 2026. Season 2 will once again be produced by Banijay Asia and will bring 16 new celebrity contestants into the reality competition, although Prime Video has not yet revealed their names.
For viewers mainly looking for the OTT details, the answer is straightforward: Alliance Season 2 starts streaming on Prime Video from January 14, 2027. An episode-release schedule has not yet been announced.
Kunal Kemmu returns, but ‘The System’ is changing
Kemmu made his reality-show hosting debut with the first season of Alliance, which Prime Video launched on June 26, 2026. The inaugural season was also notable for becoming Prime Video’s first daily reality series globally, with new episodes originally released every day at noon.
The format places celebrities inside an isolated headquarters governed by what the show calls “The System.” Contestants compete in physical and mental challenges to earn points, which effectively operate as the currency of the game, while alliances, votes and changing power structures determine who survives.
Prime Video says Season 2 will retain that basic strategy-driven structure while introducing higher stakes, new twists and an evolved System designed to put greater pressure on the players’ decisions and relationships.
Banijay Asia has also indicated that the intention is not to abandon what worked in Season 1, but to find new ways of testing the contestants through both challenges and the alliances they build. The producers have specifically welcomed Kemmu’s return, highlighting the personality and humour he brought to the headquarters during the first edition.
Season 2 is arriving only five months after Season 1
The speed of the return is arguably the most interesting part of the announcement.
Season 1 began on June 26 and concluded in early August, with Prime Video currently listing 47 episodes from the first season. Season 2 will arrive on January 14, meaning viewers will have waited only a little over five months between the first finale and the next premiere.
That is a relatively aggressive turnaround for a large celebrity reality format and suggests Prime Video wants to establish Alliance as a recurring part of its Indian unscripted slate rather than treating the first season as a one-off experiment.
The show is the Indian adaptation of a Dutch format created by John de Mol and Talpa Studios, with Banijay Asia handling the Indian production. Season 1 brought together 16 celebrities and built much of its gameplay around constantly changing loyalties rather than the more familiar eviction-and-conflict structure used by many captive reality shows.
What has not been announced yet?
Prime Video has confirmed the release date, platform, host and the return of 16 new celebrity Allies, but several details remain undisclosed.
The complete Season 2 contestant lineup has not been revealed, and Prime Video has also not confirmed whether the first season’s daily release pattern will continue unchanged. More specific details about the revised System, challenges and elimination structure are also being kept for later.
For now, the key date is January 14, 2027. With Kunal Kemmu back and a completely new group of contestants entering the headquarters, the bigger question is how much Prime Video can change Alliance without losing the strategy-heavy identity that separated its first season from India’s increasingly crowded OTT reality-show space.
