A24 has unveiled a tense new trailer for The Drama, and it’s clear this love story is heading straight for emotional wreckage. Starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, the film follows a seemingly perfect couple whose wedding plans unravel just days before they’re meant to say “I do.”
At the center of the chaos is a long-buried secret — one Zendaya’s character has been hiding for years — and once it surfaces, nothing about the relationship survives untouched.

Zendaya plays Emma Harwood, a Louisiana native working at a small bookstore while carrying an elite academic past. Pattinson stars as Charlie Thompson, a polished British museum director with an art history doctorate and a carefully curated life.

The film is written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, marking his return to A24 after the unsettling dark comedy Dream Scenario, which earned Nicolas Cage a Golden Globe nomination.
Produced by Ari Aster, Lars Knudsen, and Tyler Campellone, The Drama appears firmly in Borgli’s wheelhouse — intimate, uncomfortable, and emotionally volatile.
The supporting cast includes Mamoudou Athie, Alana Haim, Hailey Gates, with Zoë Winters appearing as a wedding photographer.
A Big Year for Zendaya and Pattinson
The Drama is just the first of three upcoming films pairing Zendaya and Pattinson. The duo will next appear together in The Odyssey, directed by Christopher Nolan, followed by Dune: Part Three from Denis Villeneuve.
