For fans waiting to see Raju, Shyam, and Baburao back together, this one stings a bit. Hera Pheri 3 isn’t moving ahead anytime soon — and the update comes straight from Akshay Kumar himself.
The film has already been stuck in drama for a while, and now it looks like things are still far from sorted.
Akshay Kumar Finally Breaks Silence
While promoting Bhooth Bangla, Akshay opened up about the situation in a YouTube chat with Subhankar Mishra. And he didn’t sugarcoat it.
He made it clear — the film is not happening right now. Not even close.
Akshay admitted even he was shocked by how things turned out. He hinted that the issue isn’t between him, Paresh Rawal, or Suniel Shetty — the trio is still on good terms and even working together on Welcome to the Jungle.
So what’s the problem then?
According to him, it’s all about agreements and behind-the-scenes complications — stuff he says he can’t openly discuss. And honestly, that says a lot.
He also mentioned the timeline isn’t encouraging either. For at least the next year, don’t expect any real movement.
What Really Went Wrong?
The film has been messy from the start.
First came Paresh Rawal’s sudden exit, which surprised fans and even Akshay. Then things got more tangled with legal disputes over the franchise rights. Reports suggested a clash between a South-based producer and Firoz Nadiadwala over ownership.
So yeah, it’s not just creative delays — it’s legal and contractual chaos.
The Iconic Legacy Still Stands Strong
The original Hera Pheri (2000), directed by Priyadarshan, gave us one of Bollywood’s most loved comic trios. Baburao, Raju, and Shyam became instantly iconic.
The sequel Phir Hera Pheri (2006) kept that momentum going, turning the franchise into a cult favorite that still trends on memes even today.
That’s exactly why expectations for part 3 are so high — maybe too high for a project stuck in so many issues.
Will It Ever Happen?
Akshay didn’t completely shut the door. He said the film will happen “when the time is right,” but even he sounded unsure.
There was even a light joke from him — hoping they don’t get too old by the time it finally starts.
And honestly, that sums it up.
Right now, Hera Pheri 3 feels more like a waiting game than an actual film in production.
