Filmmaker Vikram Bhatt has landed in fresh legal trouble. A Mumbai-based businessman has accused the director and his daughter Krishna Bhatt Sarda of cheating him of ₹13.5 crore, prompting police to formally register a case against the father-daughter duo.

According to a report by India Today, the complaint has already moved beyond preliminary inquiry, with authorities beginning a deeper investigation into the alleged financial misconduct.

What the Complaint Alleges

The case has been registered at Versova Police Station. The businessman claims Vikram and Krishna Bhatt persuaded him to invest large sums of money by promising substantial returns through film projects and other business ventures.

As per the complaint, those promised returns never materialised. After repeated attempts to recover his money allegedly failed, the businessman approached the police, leading to the registration of the case.

Given the scale of the alleged fraud, the matter has now been transferred to the Economic Offences Wing, which handles high-value financial crimes.

Trouble Mounts After Previous Arrest

This latest case comes at a sensitive time for Vikram Bhatt. In December 2025, the filmmaker and his wife Shwetambari Bhatt were arrested by Rajasthan Police in a separate ₹30 crore fraud case.

That arrest followed a complaint accusing the couple of financial irregularities linked to another business venture. They were taken into custody in Mumbai and later transported to Udaipur for further legal proceedings.

Allegations of Fake Billing and Fund Misuse

The earlier Rajasthan case was reportedly filed by Ajay Murdia, founder of Indira IVF. The complainant alleged that fake bills and vouchers were used to siphon off funds that were meant to be invested in film-related projects.

Speaking to Press Trust of India, an investigating officer stated that evidence was collected from Vikram Bhatt’s Mumbai locations. Officials reportedly recovered several bills and documents, which are now being verified. The officer also claimed that Bhatt’s team did not fully cooperate during the investigation.

Final Words

With multiple high-value fraud allegations now under investigation across states, the legal pressure around Vikram Bhatt appears to be intensifying. As the Economic Offences Wing begins scrutinising financial trails in the ₹13.5 crore case, the coming weeks could prove crucial in determining the filmmaker’s legal road ahead. For now, the accusations remain allegations—but the scale and repetition of cases have made this a closely watched situation.
