The controversy erupted after several images surfaced online showing Kangana wearing pant suits outside Parliament, even though she was actually dressed in sarees in the original photographs. The edits didn’t sit well with her, and she made her displeasure loud and clear.
“Stop Using AI on My Pictures”
Taking to her Instagram Stories on December 29, Kangana directly addressed the issue, calling the AI edits deeply invasive.
“Originally, these are my pictures from the Parliament in saris. Stop using AI on my pictures,” she wrote, before adding a sharper note:
“This is violating beyond words. Every day I wake up to see myself in various AI clothes, various makeups, even in edited photos.”
Her reaction struck a chord online, especially amid growing concerns around AI tools being used to manipulate real people’s images without permission.

Kangana didn’t stop at calling out the edits — she also underlined a bigger point about personal agency and consent.
“People should stop dressing up others!! Please stop with these AI edits and let me choose how I want to look and what I want to wear. That is entirely my prerogative,” she stated.
Since becoming a Member of Parliament, Kangana has consistently chosen sarees and traditional Indian attire during her visits to Parliament, making the AI-generated switch to western suits particularly jarring for her.
