BLACKPINK’s Jennie has revealed an unexpected career choice she would pursue if she weren’t a musician: working with animals. The K-pop superstar admitted that she would prefer a job involving minimal human interaction, offering a glimpse into her personality away from the spotlight.
The revelation came during Rolling Stone’s Musicians on Musicians conversation with Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker, where the two discussed their careers, creative processes and life beyond music.
Why Jennie Would Prefer Working With Animals
When Parker asked what she would do if she weren’t making music, Jennie responded, “I’ve said this, but like working with animals for sure.”
Explaining her preference, she added, “I would pick something where it involves not much conversations with human.”
Jennie imagined building friendships with animals and looking after them, describing the idea as something she would genuinely enjoy. However, she didn’t specify a particular profession, such as veterinary medicine or animal rescue.
Importantly, the singer clarified that her answer wasn’t an indication that she wanted to leave music. She was simply exploring what another career might look like.
Jennie and Kevin Parker Discuss Life Beyond Stardom
The conversation also touched on the appeal of solitude. Parker described temporarily isolating himself to create music, something Jennie found particularly appealing.
Their discussion followed the success of their collaboration on the remix of Tame Impala’s Dracula, released in February 2026. The track became a major international hit, giving both artists their first Billboard Hot 100 top-ten entry.
For someone whose career involves packed arenas, constant attention and global fame, Jennie’s preference for a quieter, animal-focused profession offers an interesting contrast to her public image.
