Lokesh Kanagaraj has addressed speculation surrounding his upcoming film with Allu Arjun, tentatively titled AA23, by sharing a new photograph of the two together. The filmmaker’s October 12 social media post comes amid rumours that their much-anticipated collaboration had been shelved over reported creative differences.
Sharing the picture on X, Lokesh wrote, “Interesting updates coming soon,” tagging Allu Arjun, production company Mythri Movie Makers and music composer Anirudh Ravichander.
The photograph shows the actor and director engaged in conversation, offering reassurance that their collaboration remains active. However, Lokesh did not reveal what the upcoming announcement would involve.
Why Were There Rumours About AA23 Being Shelved?
Speculation intensified after updates about the project became scarce. Reports suggested that the film had encountered script-related disagreements, although neither Lokesh nor Allu Arjun publicly confirmed those claims.
Similar rumours surfaced in June 2026, when writer Rathna Kumar indicated that the project remained on track.
The latest photograph provides another encouraging signal, but it does not establish a confirmed filming schedule.
What Is Confirmed About Allu Arjun’s AA23?
The project marks the first collaboration between Allu Arjun and Lokesh Kanagaraj, known for directing Kaithi, Master, Vikram and Leo.
Mythri Movie Makers, the production company behind Allu Arjun’s Pushpa films, is financing the project. Anirudh Ravichander will compose its music.
The filmmakers previously introduced AA23 through an animated announcement video featuring Anirudh’s energetic soundtrack. However, the official title, storyline, supporting cast and theatrical release date remain undisclosed.
Meanwhile, Allu Arjun is working on Atlee’s ambitious sci-fi fantasy action film Raaka, which also stars Deepika Padukone.
