Tensions between Kanika Mann and Qazi Touqeer have flared again inside the Bigg Boss 20 house, this time over a joke that Kanika believed crossed a line.
The argument centered on a remark Qazi allegedly made to Arishfa Khan, asking her, “Lollipop chahiye?” Kanika raised the comment during a larger discussion about Qazi’s sense of humour and objected to the way some of his jokes could be interpreted. Other housemates also became involved, turning what Qazi described as harmless banter into another full-house debate.
Kanika was visibly unimpressed with his explanation and accused him of making “cheap” jokes, warning him that she would teach him how to behave before leaving the house.
Qazi says there was no wrong intention behind the joke
Qazi, however, strongly rejected the suggestion that the “lollipop” comment had a double meaning.
Defending himself in front of the housemates, he said:
“Ye galat matlab nahi jayega. Jab meri niyat galat nahi hai toh galat matlab nahi jayega.”
He also questioned why the issue was being turned into something bigger, asking, “Kya kya mudda bana rahe ho tum log? What the hell are you talking about?” Qazi maintained that he would accept responsibility if he genuinely believed he was wrong, but did not agree with the interpretation being attached to his words.
The disagreement becomes more complicated because Qazi and Arishfa have frequently shared a playful equation inside the house, which some viewers have described as almost father-daughter-like. That context has become a major part of the online debate, with supporters arguing that Kanika removed the comment from the tone in which it was originally made. Others, however, felt contestants were justified in questioning remarks that could make someone uncomfortable.
The argument is bigger than just the ‘lollipop’ remark
The confrontation did not happen in isolation.
Qazi had already faced criticism inside the house over another joke involving the phrase “ganji gudiya.” ScoutOP recalled that Qazi had earlier spoken about a possible “ganji gudiya” task and linked the conversation to a comment about his testosterone level. Several contestants interpreted the exchange as inappropriate, while Qazi and some viewers argued it had been taken out of context.
That earlier discussion appears to have shaped how Kanika reacted to the “lollipop” comment. Rather than treating it as a single throwaway line, she viewed it as part of a pattern she was uncomfortable with.
The audience reaction has been equally divided. Some social-media users criticised Qazi’s jokes as “cheap” or unnecessary, while others accused Kanika and the other contestants of deliberately adding a double meaning to otherwise casual remarks.
Kanika and Qazi already have a tense equation
Kanika and Qazi have not exactly enjoyed a smooth relationship this season.
Their friction began early in Bigg Boss 20, and subsequent tasks and disagreements have kept the tension alive. The “lollipop” row has therefore become less about one sentence and more about the lack of trust between the two contestants.
That is also why the argument is unlikely to disappear simply because Qazi has explained his intention. Kanika’s objection is focused on how his jokes sound and how they are received, while Qazi’s defence rests on what he says he actually meant.
For now, Bigg Boss 20 has left viewers with two very different readings of the same exchange — one side sees an inappropriate joke that deserved to be challenged, while the other sees ordinary banter being deliberately turned into controversy.
