Drishyam: The Conclusion Gets UA 16+ Certificate With Zero Cuts

Vijay Salgaonkar’s final battle is officially ready for theaters.

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam: The Conclusion has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) ahead of its October 2, 2026 release—and the board has reportedly cleared the thriller without a single cut or audio-visual modification.

The censor certificate was issued on September 28 and lists the film’s final runtime at 150 minutes, or 2 hours and 30 minutes. That makes The Conclusion eight minutes longer than Drishyam 2.

Drishyam 3 has been cleared without any changes

The zero-cut certification is arguably the more interesting detail.

According to Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC’s Examining Committee did not require any scenes to be removed, dialogues muted or visuals altered. It also reportedly did not ask for some of the additional disclaimers or modifications occasionally requested during certification.

This makes Drishyam: The Conclusion the second Hindi Drishyam film to receive a U/A certificate without cuts, following Drishyam 2 in 2022.

The new U/A 16+ classification does not mean the film is restricted to viewers aged 16 and above. Under India’s current certification system, it indicates content considered suitable for viewers 16 and older, while younger viewers may watch with parental guidance.

Interestingly, the film’s trailer had already received the same U/A 16+ classification earlier this month. The latest certification, however, applies to the complete theatrical film, not merely its promotional footage.

The Conclusion is longer than Drishyam 2

At 150 minutes, The Conclusion sits between the previous two Hindi films in terms of length.

The 2015 Drishyam ran approximately 162 minutes, while 2022’s Drishyam 2 was 142 minutes. That makes the new movie the second-longest entry in the trilogy.

For a franchise built around tiny details, alibis and increasingly complicated attempts to expose—or protect—Vijay’s secret, those extra eight minutes compared with Part 2 may be useful.

The final chapter brings Ajay Devgn back as Vijay Salgaonkar, alongside Shriya Saran, Tabu, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor and Kamlesh Sawant.

There are also two significant additions.

Jaideep Ahlawat enters as Crime Branch SP Rajveer Singh Tomar, while Prakash Raj plays lawyer Indrajith Shetty, adding two new forces to the investigation surrounding the Salgaonkar family.

Abhishek Pathak, who directed Drishyam 2, returns to direct the conclusion.

October 2 brings the franchise joke full circle

The release date is particularly appropriate for Drishyam.

October 2 has become inseparable from Vijay Salgaonkar’s fabricated alibi in the first film, with his family repeatedly recalling their supposed trip to Panaji and what they ate during it. The date became such a recognizable part of the franchise that the new movie’s marketing is openly calling its theatrical arrival “Drishyam Day.” BookMyShow currently lists the film for October 2 with the tagline, “Aakhri hissa baaki hai.”

The certification now removes one of the final formalities before release.

A U/A 16+ rating may hint at a darker and more intense final confrontation, but the more concrete news is simpler: audiences will see Abhishek Pathak’s full 150-minute cut without CBFC-mandated edits.

For a franchise where every missing detail matters, nothing being cut feels strangely appropriate.
