Peddi OTT Release: Ram Charan Film Gets Netflix Date

Ram Charan’s biggest box office success of the year is finally heading to streaming. After dominating theatres for weeks and collecting massive numbers worldwide, Peddi is now ready to reach a much wider audience through its digital premiere. Fans who couldn’t catch the film on the big screen won’t have to wait much longer, as Netflix has officially locked in its streaming date.

The sports action drama created huge buzz even before its theatrical release and managed to keep that momentum going despite receiving mixed reviews from critics. Discussions around Janhvi Kapoor’s role also became a talking point online, but none of the controversy slowed the film’s commercial performance. Now, its OTT arrival is expected to introduce the film to viewers across multiple languages.

Netflix Confirms Peddi’s Digital Premiere

Netflix India announced on Saturday that Peddi will begin streaming on the platform from July 9, 2026. The film will be available in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, while the Hindi version will arrive on the platform later. Sharing the announcement on Instagram, Netflix wrote, “Aata marocchu kaani, monagadu mathram maradu 😎🔥 Watch Peddi, out 9 July, in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam and Coming soon in Hindi, on Netflix.”

The digital release comes almost a month after the film’s theatrical debut, giving audiences another opportunity to experience one of Telugu cinema’s biggest commercial entertainers of 2026. Given the film’s strong theatrical reception, industry watchers expect Peddi to attract significant viewership during its first week on Netflix.

One of 2026’s Biggest Box Office Winners

Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi hit theatres on June 4, 2026 and quickly established itself as one of the year’s highest-grossing Indian films. According to Sacnilk, the movie collected ₹338.98 crore worldwide, while its India gross stood at ₹286 crore, making it one of Ram Charan’s biggest commercial successes in recent years. The strong box office run also reinforced the actor’s impressive track record following his recent blockbuster outings.

Apart from Ram Charan, the film features Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead. The supporting cast includes Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu, Boman Irani, Ravi Kishan and several other prominent actors in key roles. Adding to the film’s appeal was its soundtrack and background score, composed by Oscar-winning music maestro A.R. Rahman, whose music received praise from audiences during the theatrical run.

Chiranjeevi Reveals Ram Charan’s Injury During Shoot

During the film’s success celebration, Megastar Chiranjeevi opened up about a frightening incident that happened while Ram Charan was filming one of Peddi’s action sequences. Recalling the moment, he said, “During the shoot, Charan suffered an eye injury. I was terrified when I saw the photo of it. He required eight stitches, yet he didn’t back down. We were told that there were chances that he could have lost his eye if it hit him a little lower. He got lucky and got an injury on his eyebrow, I was relieved that nothing happened to my son.”

Speaking about his son’s commitment to the role, Chiranjeevi added, “Charan is the son of a star hero; he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. He didn’t have to work this hard; he could have simply done what the director asked and moved on. But he chose to believe in hard work.”

The veteran actor also shared details about Ram Charan’s demanding preparation for the film, saying, “I witnessed the physical transformation he underwent for this movie at home every day. I saw Ram Charan’s fitness journey through my eyes. He would wake up at 4 am, train his body, and go to the sets. He would come home late at night, wouldn’t even freshen up, have some soup and go back to training. I asked him, is it necessary? But as an actor I commend his dedication. Watching his dedication filled me with immense pride.”

With its theatrical run now complete, Peddi enters the next phase of its journey through OTT. The Netflix release is likely to bring the blockbuster to an even larger audience, especially viewers who missed it in cinemas or are waiting to watch it in their preferred regional language.
