Akshara Singh Reveals Akshay Kumar Shot Bhojpuri Song With High Fever

Akshay Kumar is gearing up for the release of Welcome To The Jungle, but one behind-the-scenes story from the film has now caught fans’ attention. Bhojpuri actor and singer Akshara Singh has revealed that the Bollywood star continued filming their dance number despite battling a high fever. According to her, Akshay stayed committed to the shoot even when his temperature had reportedly touched 103–104 degrees, leaving a strong impression on everyone present on set.

The dance track, Ghis Ghis Ghis, marks Akshay’s entry into the Bhojpuri music space, with Akshara Singh joining him for the energetic number. While the song is packed with colourful visuals and comedy, Akshara says what happened behind the camera made the experience even more memorable for her.

Akshara Singh recalls Akshay Kumar’s dedication on set

During a conversation with ANI, Akshara Singh spoke about witnessing Akshay Kumar’s work ethic firsthand. She said she noticed he was shooting despite suffering from a very high fever, something that surprised her throughout the filming process. Watching him continue with the demanding dance sequence made her realise how seriously he takes his profession and the responsibility that comes with it.

“The biggest thing was that he had a fever of 103-104 degrees while shooting. I kept observing him and realised how much he loves his work and his craft. He works with a great sense of responsibility and dedication.”

Akshara also opened up about how unexpected the opportunity itself was. She revealed that she first received a call from Ahmed Khan’s production house regarding a song in Welcome To The Jungle. Initially, she wasn’t sure whether to accept it, but things changed after choreographer Ganesh Acharya personally reached out and explained the project to her.

“I received a call from Ahmed Sir’s production house… I was told there’s a song in ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ and that I had to do it. I hesitated for a while. Later, Ganesh Acharya, sir, called me, and I felt reassured. He asked me if I would do the song. I asked what kind of song it was, and he said it’s a wonderful track and that I would really like it. He encouraged me to do it. And the moment I heard Ganesh sir and Akshay sir’s name, I was completely blank. (Main completely blank ho gayi thi),” she said.

For Akshara, sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar was something she had never imagined would happen so soon. She described it as a dream come true, especially because the collaboration introduced her to a much wider audience beyond Bhojpuri cinema. The song has also generated curiosity among fans who wanted to see the Bollywood superstar trying a completely different musical style.

Ghis Ghis Ghis brings Bhojpuri flavour to the comedy film

The newly released Ghis Ghis Ghis is designed to match the loud and playful tone of Welcome To The Jungle. Rather than being presented as a standalone music video, the song plays out as part of the film itself, with Akshay Kumar appearing as an actor shooting a Bhojpuri dance number.

The sequence begins on a humorous note when Paresh Rawal’s character is asked to recommend a hero for a film. He jokingly introduces Akshay Kumar as a once-top star who is now performing Bhojpuri item songs, setting up the comic situation before the music begins. The playful dialogue is followed by a colourful dance performance featuring Akshay and Akshara Singh surrounded by vibrant sets, energetic choreography and exaggerated expressions that are often associated with commercial Bhojpuri music videos.

The makers promoted the track with the tagline, “From the heartland of India comes a Genz banger,” signalling that the song mixes traditional Bhojpuri flavour with a youthful presentation. Since its release, the track has sparked conversations online, with many viewers praising the unexpected pairing of Akshay Kumar and Akshara Singh.
