Fans of the Yellowstone universe have another reason to celebrate. Even before its first season reaches the finish line, Paramount+ has officially renewed Dutton Ranch for a second season, extending the story of Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler beyond their new life in Texas. The early renewal comes after the series delivered a massive debut for the streaming platform, quickly becoming one of the biggest television success stories of the year.
The decision wasn’t entirely unexpected. Since its premiere, Dutton Ranch has attracted strong viewership and positive audience response, proving that the popularity of Taylor Sheridan’s western universe continues even after the end of Yellowstone. With the show’s first season still airing, Paramount+ has now confirmed that Beth and Rip’s journey is far from over.
Dutton Ranch becomes Paramount+’s biggest original premiere
According to Paramount+, Dutton Ranch has recorded the biggest original series launch in the platform’s history. The series also climbed to the top of Nielsen’s streaming rankings during its debut week, highlighting just how quickly viewers embraced the latest chapter in the expanding Yellowstone franchise.
The sequel follows Kelly Reilly’s Beth Dutton and Cole Hauser’s Rip Wheeler as they leave Montana behind in search of a fresh beginning in South Texas. Their hope for a quieter life doesn’t last long, however, as the couple finds themselves caught in fresh conflicts involving dangerous rivals, family tensions and a powerful ranch determined to defend its territory at any cost. While the setting has changed, the series continues to deliver the intense family drama, violence and emotional stakes that helped make Yellowstone a global hit.
Created by Chad Feehan with Taylor Sheridan serving as executive producer, the nine-episode first season premiered on May 15. New episodes have been arriving every Friday, while the season finale is scheduled to stream on July 3. The quick renewal suggests Paramount+ has strong confidence in the show’s long-term future and the continued popularity of Sheridan’s television universe.

Alongside Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser, Dutton Ranch features an ensemble cast that includes Finn Little, Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, Ed Harris and Annette Bening. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, with several members of the creative team behind Yellowstone continuing their involvement in the spinoff.
Executive producers include Taylor Sheridan, Chad Feehan, John Linson, David C. Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly and Keith Cox.
