South Korean actress and former After School member Im Jin-Ah, popularly known as Nana, has seen a fresh development in the disturbing home intrusion case that shook her personal life late last year. The man accused of breaking into her residence has now denied key allegations, including claims that he was armed during the incident.

The case, which dates back to November 15, 2025, continues to draw attention as prosecutors and the defence present sharply conflicting versions of what happened inside Nana’s home that night.

What Prosecutors Are Claiming

According to South Korean media reports dated January 20, prosecutors have formally stated that the accused, identified as Mr. Kim, entered Nana’s home with a weapon and attempted robbery. In their charge sheet, authorities allege that he threatened Nana and her mother, demanded money, and caused physical injuries during the confrontation.

Prosecutors described the incident as an attempted robbery that failed after Nana and her mother managed to subdue the intruder and alert the police. They maintain that the presence of a weapon escalated the seriousness of the offence.

Accused Flatly Denies Weapon Allegations

However, the defence has pushed back strongly against these claims.

The accused’s lawyer stated that his client did not carry any weapon during the break-in and had no intention of extortion. According to the defence, the man allegedly entered the house believing it was empty and only intended to steal due to financial hardship.

The lawyer further claimed that the weapon mentioned by prosecutors was taken from inside the house and that the accused was “unilaterally beaten” during the incident. The suspect has also requested forensic verification, asking the court to examine fingerprints on the alleged weapon.

Nana and Her Mother to Be Summoned

In a significant move, the court has now summoned Nana and her mother as witnesses. This comes after police previously dropped charges related to injuries sustained by the intruder during the struggle inside the home.

The accused, meanwhile, has reportedly filed a counter-lawsuit — a development Nana recently addressed in an emotional letter to fans, where she opened up about the psychological toll the incident has taken on her.

A Case Still Far From Closure

With both sides presenting opposing narratives, the case remains unresolved. The next court hearing has been scheduled for March 10, where witness testimonies and forensic details are expected to play a crucial role.

For Nana, the incident has been a painful reminder of how quickly personal safety can be shattered — even at home. As legal proceedings continue, fans and the industry alike are watching closely, hoping for clarity and justice in a case that has deeply affected the actress.
