Did Jailer 2 Beat Coolie and the Original Jailer?
Despite its impressive debut, Jailer 2 couldn’t surpass Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which opened at approximately ₹151 crore worldwide, or Vijay’s Leo, which earned around ₹142 crore.
However, the sequel comfortably exceeded the original Jailer (2023), which collected approximately ₹48.35 crore net in India on its opening day.
That represents an increase of roughly 23% in domestic net earnings.
With the opening weekend underway, the next major test will be whether Jailer 2 maintains its momentum beyond the initial surge of anticipation.
