Fresh controversy has erupted around singer-composer Palaash Muchhal after actor-producer Vidnyan Mane levelled a series of serious allegations against him — including claims of infidelity involving Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and financial cheating linked to an unreleased film.
Mane has filed a formal complaint in Sangli, Maharashtra, alleging that Muchhal cheated him of over ₹40 lakh. A copy of the complaint is with HT City.
What Vidnyan Mane Is Alleging
Speaking about the fallout, Mane claimed he was present during wedding celebrations scheduled for November 23, 2025, when he allegedly witnessed Muchhal with another woman.
“I was at the wedding celebrations when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed,” Mane alleged, adding that the situation spiralled out of control and that Muchhal was confronted by members of the Indian women’s cricket fraternity present there.
Mane further stated that he is a childhood friend of Smriti Mandhana and was introduced to Muchhal through her family, believing the relationship would culminate in marriage and long-term stability.
₹40 Lakh Investment Dispute
Beyond the personal allegations, Mane has accused Muchhal and his family of financial misconduct tied to an unreleased film project.
According to him, after investing over ₹40 lakh, he was told by Muchhal’s mother, Amita Muchhal, that the film’s release budget had suddenly increased to ₹1.5 crore. Mane claims he was pressured to invest an additional ₹10 lakh or risk losing his entire investment.
“They started blackmailing me and threatened to throw me out of the film,” he alleged, stating that this forced him to approach the authorities.
Claims of Non-Payment and Threats
Mane further alleged that after the wedding was called off, he was blocked by the Muchhal family on all platforms. He also claimed that other artistes associated with the film had not been paid their dues, despite the project being ready for release.
“I had heard of directors fleecing producers, but this is complete theft,” he said, adding that he has allegedly received threats warning him that he would no longer be associated with the project.
Mane stated that he has preserved chat records and phone conversations and is willing to share them with both the police and the media.
Palaash Muchhal Responds
Soon after the allegations surfaced, Palaash Muchhal issued a response via Instagram Stories, categorically denying all claims.
He stated that the allegations were “entirely baseless and factually incorrect” and accused Mane of attempting to malign his reputation. Muchhal added that his lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, is exploring all legal remedies and that the matter will be handled strictly through legal channels.
Wedding That Never Happened
Palaash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana’s wedding was originally scheduled for November 23, 2025, but was first postponed due to health emergencies in both families and later cancelled permanently in December 2025.
Following widespread speculation that the relationship ended due to cheating, both parties released statements confirming the wedding would not take place. While Smriti asked for privacy and clarified that the wedding was called off, Muchhal stated that he was stepping away from the relationship and described the period as the most difficult phase of his life.
