For nearly two weeks, social media seemed convinced that Mrunal Thakur was secretly tying the knot with Dhanush on Valentine’s Day. The rumour mill ran wild. Memes were made. “Sources” popped up out of nowhere.
And then February 14 came and went.
No wedding. No announcement. No surprise photos.
Now, Mrunal is finally reacting — and she’s doing it with a smile.
💍 “According to Them, I’m Getting Married”
Speaking to Hindustan Times, Mrunal Thakur addressed the rumours linking her to Dhanush.
When told that social media had practically married her off already, she laughed and joked, “Woh to shaadi ho rahi hai (According to them, the wedding is happening).”
She made it clear she isn’t annoyed — in fact, she finds it amusing.
“I am a very open person. If there is anything in my life, I will put it out,” she said, adding that spending energy on rumours would only distract her from her career.
👨👩👧 Marriage Pressure at Home?
Interestingly, in her upcoming film Do Deewane Seher Mein, Mrunal plays an urban woman navigating the arranged marriage setup.
So does she face similar pressure in real life?
She admits her family occasionally tells her to “settle ho jao,” but they also understand the demands of her profession. Balancing South Indian films and Hindi cinema, she says, isn’t easy.
“It’s like being a sanyaasi,” she explained, describing the discipline required — sacrificing sleep, food, and personal time to stay focused.
Her friends who are married often say they can’t imagine her lifestyle. And she laughs, saying she feels the same about theirs.
📣 Hiring a PR Team for Protection
Mrunal revealed that until recently, she didn’t even have a PR team. However, after her home address became public, she decided it was necessary to protect herself.
In a tongue-in-cheek remark, she added that no matter how much money she spends on publicity — ₹3 crore, ₹6 crore, ₹10 crore — she could never buy the kind of attention these rumours generated.
“So, a big thank you to everyone spreading fake rumours,” she quipped.
🎬 “The Only Constant Partner Is the Camera”
Philosophically summing up her current mindset, Mrunal said, “I am here romancing the camera, and the only constant partner I want to have with me is the camera.”
That line says it all.
While gossip cycles move fast, she seems firmly focused on work.
Up next, she stars opposite Siddhant Chaturvedi in Do Deewane Seher Mein, directed by Ravi Udyawar and produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The romantic drama is set to hit theatres on February 20.
Final Words
Celebrity rumours come and go. But Mrunal Thakur’s response? Calm, composed, and slightly amused.
For now, there’s no wedding — only work.
And if she has her way, the spotlight will stay on her films, not her relationship status.
