Yami Gautam’s supernatural comedy Nayyi Navelli has registered a modest opening at the box office, collecting an estimated ₹3.25 crore net in India on its first day. Released on October 16, 2026, the Balaji Mohan directorial earned approximately ₹4.58 crore worldwide, outperforming Rajkummar Rao’s Prahaar despite receiving mixed-to-negative reviews.
Produced by Aanand L. Rai and Himanshu Sharma, the film combines family comedy with supernatural elements, featuring Yami as Mohini, a mysterious newlywed suspected of possessing extraordinary powers.

Nayyi Navelli Beats Prahaar but Trails Article 370
Interestingly, Nayyi Navelli performed better than Rajkummar Rao’s courtroom drama Prahaar, which collected ₹2.35 crore net in India on opening day.
However, Yami’s film benefited from significantly more screenings, making the comparison less straightforward.
The opening also falls short of the ₹6.61 crore gross debut reported for Gautam’s Article 370 in 2024.
With reviews highlighting weaknesses in the screenplay and supernatural storytelling, Nayyi Navelli now faces an important weekend test.
The key question is whether Saturday and Sunday collections can improve sufficiently to offset its subdued opening.
