The second trailer for Ramayana: Rise of a Legend has arrived, bringing Ranbir Kapoor’s Rama and Yash’s Ravana closer to their epic confrontation. Released on October 15, 2026, the international trailer offers a more substantial look at Ravana’s extraordinary powers, spectacular battle sequences and Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious interpretation of the Indian epic.
However, one particularly interesting detail is how the film introduces Rama differently to Hindi and international audiences.
Yash’s Ravana Takes Centre Stage in Ramayana Trailer 2
The new footage opens by introducing Ravana as a formidable ruler determined to establish his dominance.
“Before me, every head will bow,” declares Yash’s character.
The trailer then reveals Kunal Kapoor as Indra, the king of the gods, riding his celestial elephant, Airavata. Ravana confronts Indra and strikes the elephant, establishing the scale of his supernatural strength.
Ranbir’s Rama subsequently emerges as the figure capable of challenging Ravana’s ambitions.
The trailer combines extensive visual effects, elaborate mythological settings and large-scale action to establish the stakes of their impending battle.
Why the Hindi and English Trailers Are Different
Interestingly, the English trailer introduces Rama as “Not a God, but a man — Rama.”
The Hindi version takes a different approach, explicitly identifying him as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
This distinction suggests that the international campaign is emphasising Rama’s human journey and moral courage, while the Hindi presentation places greater importance on his divine identity.
The difference appears to be a storytelling choice for the promotional campaign rather than confirmation of separate film narratives.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra, Ramayana also stars Sai Pallavi as Sita, Ravie Dubey as Lakshman and Sunny Deol as Hanuman.
Featuring music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, the first instalment arrives in cinemas on November 5, 2026, with Part 2 planned for Diwali 2027.
