Robert Pattinson has finally addressed the unexpected production pause on The Batman: Part II, offering a brief update on the highly anticipated DC sequel. Speaking at the BFI London Film Festival premiere of his new film Primetime, the actor acknowledged that filming has temporarily stopped but suggested that the team intends to work through the situation.
“I think, yeah, we’re pausing for a little bit, and then we’re going to figure it all out,” Pattinson told Official Pop Drop during the red-carpet interview.
His comments follow Warner Bros. and DC Studios’ October 5 announcement that director Matt Reeves had temporarily stepped away from production to attend to a family matter.
Why Has The Batman Part II Stopped Filming?
In its official statement, DC Studios confirmed the temporary suspension and expressed support for Reeves.
The studio has not disclosed further details about the family matter or announced when filming will fully resume.
Production began in London in June 2026, with Pattinson returning as Bruce Wayne alongside Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis and Colin Farrell. New cast members include Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan and Brian Tyree Henry.
The latest interruption is another setback for a sequel that has already experienced multiple delays since the original film’s release in March 2022.
Will The Batman Part II Be Delayed Again?
For now, The Batman: Part II remains scheduled for February 18, 2028. Warner Bros. has not announced another release-date change.
The film was previously scheduled for October 2027 before being pushed to February 2028 earlier this year.
Pattinson has previously described the sequel as a major creative departure from its predecessor, teasing a different direction for Reeves’ version of Gotham City.
His latest remarks provide some reassurance that the production pause is intended to be temporary, although they offer no definite restart date.
The next significant update will be confirmation that Reeves has returned and principal photography is continuing as planned.
