Just when the conversation around KATSEYE started shifting toward uncertainty, the group flipped the narrative — and how.
Fresh off their Coachella moment, the group is now heading straight into one of the biggest global stages. KATSEYE has landed three nominations at the American Music Awards 2026, and on top of that, they’re also confirmed to perform at the ceremony.
And yeah, they’ll be doing it as a five-member unit.
That part matters, because for the past few days, most of the chatter has been around Manon Bannerman and the reports of her exit or hiatus. While nothing dramatic has been officially framed as a breakup, the group has clearly been moving forward without her for now.
But if Coachella proved anything, it’s that they’re not slowing down.
Their performance at the festival earlier this month pulled serious attention. The Sahara Stage set had energy, confidence, and a clear sense that the group knows exactly where it stands right now. They even debuted a new track, “Pinky Up,” and brought out HUNTR/X for a surprise performance of “Golden,” which only added to the hype.
Now, heading into the AMAs, the recognition is starting to match that momentum.
They’ve been nominated for New Artist of the Year, Breakthrough Pop Artist, and Best Music Video for “Gnarly.” Not bad at all, especially when you look at the competition around them. Groups like BTS and others are in the same bracket, and KATSEYE is right there holding its ground.
It’s not just about nominations though.
Performing at the AMAs is a different level of visibility. This is where global audiences tune in, where artists either confirm their rise or just pass through. And for KATSEYE, this performance could easily be one of those defining moments.
The 52nd edition of the awards will be hosted by Queen Latifah and will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 25. Big stage, big audience, no room to play safe.
At the same time, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes too.
The group is gearing up for their next EP, Wild, which is scheduled to drop in August under HYBE x Geffen Records. Their recent single “Pinky Up” is already setting the tone, and from what they’ve hinted, the project is going to lean into a more confident, maybe slightly edgier direction.
This will also be their first major release since Beautiful Chaos, which performed strongly on the Billboard 200 and gave them tracks like “Gnarly” and “Gabriela.” So expectations are already high.
As for Manon, the group has been careful but clear. She’s on a break, focusing on her health, and there’s no negativity around it from the members. In fact, they’ve openly shown support, calling her family and making it clear that the bond hasn’t changed — even if the lineup has, for now.
Still, fans are watching closely.
Because moments like this — big nominations, major performances, new music on the way — usually define the next phase of a group’s journey.
And right now, KATSEYE seems to be stepping into that phase without hesitation.
Whatever happens next, they’re not waiting around.
