As Dhurandhar quietly stepped into its fourth week, it delivered a thunderous statement at the box office. Aditya Dhar’s action-packed thriller, led by Ranveer Singh, has officially crossed the ₹1,000 crore mark worldwide, sealing its status as one of Indian cinema’s biggest modern-day blockbusters.
Released on December 5, the film hasn’t just opened big — it has held strong across weeks, a rare feat in today’s front-loaded box office climate.
A powerful opening that set the tone
Dhurandhar announced its arrival with a confident first weekend. After opening at ₹28 crore on Day 1, the film showed immediate growth, peaking at ₹43 crore on its first Sunday. While weekdays saw expected drops, collections stabilised quickly, allowing the film to close Week 1 at a massive ₹207.25 crore net.
That early consistency proved crucial for what followed.
Week 2: When the film truly exploded
The second week is where Dhurandhar shifted gears. Strong word of mouth and repeat audiences pushed collections sharply higher, especially over the weekend. The film recorded ₹53 crore on the second Saturday and an even bigger ₹58 crore on the second Sunday, numbers rarely seen beyond opening weekends.
Despite weekday corrections, Dhurandhar wrapped Week 2 with ₹253.25 crore, registering a 20% jump over Week 1 — a clear sign of growing momentum.
Week 3: Drops, but still dominant
By Week 3, competition and natural fatigue kicked in, but Dhurandhar still stayed comfortably ahead of the curve. Weekend spikes remained intact, with the film earning ₹38.5 crore on its third Sunday. Interestingly, collections bounced back on the third Thursday with ₹25 crore, showing that audience interest hadn’t fully cooled off.
The film closed Week 3 at ₹172 crore, a drop from the previous week, but still an exceptional figure for a film this deep into its run.
Day 22 update and fourth-week hold
Even as it entered its fourth week, Dhurandhar refused to collapse. On Day 22 (fourth Friday), the film earned ₹15 crore net, a double-digit figure that underlines its staying power.
At the end of 22 days:
- India Net Collection: ₹647.50 crore
- India Gross Collection: ₹777 crore
Overseas surge pushes it past ₹1,000 crore
While domestic numbers have been towering, overseas markets have played a decisive role in pushing Dhurandhar into record territory. The film has earned approximately ₹225 crore overseas, lifting its worldwide gross to around ₹1,002–1,003 crore.
This makes Dhurandhar:
- The second-fastest Bollywood film to cross ₹1,000 crore (22 days)
- Only behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, which did it in 18 days
- The ninth Indian film to enter the ₹1,000 crore club
- The first release of 2025 to achieve the milestone
All this, despite carrying an ‘A’ certification, which limits its potential audience.
Still beating new releases
What’s equally impressive is Dhurandhar’s continued dominance against fresh competition. On the same Friday, Avatar: Fire and Ash reportedly managed single-digit India net collections, while Dhurandhar stayed firmly in double digits — even in its fourth week.
Final words
Big openings are common. Sustained runs aren’t. Dhurandhar has delivered both — driven by scale, strong audience pull, and a theatrical experience that clearly resonated beyond its opening rush. With momentum still intact, the film’s box office journey looks far from over, even after rewriting the record books.
