Eyewear major Lenskart Solutions Ltd has wrapped up its much-anticipated ₹7,278 crore initial public offering (IPO) on November 4, 2025, drawing massive investor interest with the issue subscribed over 28 times.

The IPO, priced between ₹382 and ₹402 per share, values the company at nearly ₹70,000 crore at the upper end of the range. The offering comprised a fresh issue of ₹2,150 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) worth ₹5,128 crore by existing shareholders including SoftBank Vision Fund II, Schroders Capital, and Temasek.

Lenskart’s Growth and IPO Details

Founded in 2008 by Peyush Bansal and Amit Chaudhary, Lenskart has grown into India’s largest organized eyewear retailer, operating over 2,700 stores across India and global markets. The company reported ₹6,652 crore in revenue for FY25, reflecting its rapid expansion in both retail and online channels.

Funds raised through the IPO will be directed towards store expansion, technology upgrades, marketing initiatives, and other corporate purposes, as the company aims to strengthen its omni-channel presence and international footprint.

Soha Ali Khan’s Financial Take

Amid the market buzz, actress Soha Ali Khan shared an insightful financial breakdown of Lenskart’s IPO on social media — urging retail investors to “look beyond the hype.”

Calling the IPO “expensive compared to the current profits,” Soha cautioned followers to understand a company’s fundamentals before investing.

“If you believe in the brand long term, then great. But if you’re hoping to get rich by next Friday, then maybe have another think,” she said.

She also explained the concept of an IPO in simple terms:

“It’s the first time a private company says, ‘Hey, now you can own a tiny piece of our company.’”

Her post quickly went viral for making complex financial concepts accessible and relatable — blending celebrity influence with financial literacy.

What’s Next for Investors

The share allotment for the IPO will be finalized on November 6, with listing on the NSE and BSE scheduled for November 10, 2025.

While some analysts flagged Lenskart’s premium valuation, strong institutional demand drove confidence — with qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) subscribing nearly 40 times their quota, signaling robust interest in the eyewear giant’s long-term growth story.
