Raj Nidimoru Says Maa Inti Bangaaram Means More Than Stree

Maa Inti Bangaaram is continuing its impressive run in theatres, but for filmmaker and producer Raj Nidimoru, the film’s success is about far more than box office numbers. Headlined by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the emotional action drama has earned positive feedback from audiences and critics, giving the team another reason to celebrate. During the film’s recent success event, Raj looked back on the journey of bringing the project to life and admitted that this particular film has given him a sense of satisfaction unlike any of his previous blockbusters. Despite having major commercial successes such as Stree and The Family Man to his name, he believes Maa Inti Bangaaram connected with people on a much deeper level.

The film has also strengthened Samantha’s return to the big screen in a powerful lead role. Her performance has received praise from viewers, with many highlighting the blend of emotion and action that drives the story forward. As the film continues to perform steadily in cinemas, the team’s emotional attachment to the project has become just as important as its financial success.

Raj Nidimoru says the film connected with him differently

Speaking at the success meet, Raj was asked whether Maa Inti Bangaaram felt more rewarding than some of the Hindi films and web series that established his reputation across India. Without hesitation, he admitted that the response to Samantha’s film has stayed with him in a very personal way. Although Stree became a huge theatrical blockbuster and The Family Man turned into one of India’s most celebrated streaming shows, Raj believes this project created a different emotional impact.

He said, “We did so much in Hindi. The Family Man and Stree came and became blockbusters, but I got greater appreciation for Maa Inti Bangaaram than I did for them. So it is very special. Every time I feel like so many people are watching. Stree became such a big blockbuster, and everybody was talking about it, and the same happened with The Family Man as well. But this one hit home.”

Raj has spent the last several years building an impressive body of work across both films and streaming platforms. Alongside Stree and The Family Man, he has been associated with successful titles including Farzi, Guns & Gulaabs and Citadel: Honey Bunny. Even with that track record, he suggested that personal appreciation from audiences often means more than commercial milestones alone.

Producer recalls the challenges behind the film

Raj also spoke openly about the financial uncertainty the team faced before production began. According to him, Maa Inti Bangaaram was never an easy project to finance, and convincing investors proved to be one of the biggest hurdles. He compared the experience with the early days of Stree, revealing that even that now-iconic blockbuster initially struggled to attract producers because many doubted its commercial potential.

He said, “It was not like investors were coming running to us. We were genuinely worried about things like the OTT sale. When we were designing the movie, we wanted to use Samantha’s skill set to elevate the film, but we had budget constraints and a tight schedule. There was also a risk because people were saying so many things about her at the time. Samantha never wanted to make more films, but I asked her to do one more.”

His comments also underline the challenges producers continue facing in today’s film industry, where theatrical collections, digital rights and production budgets all play an important role before a project even reaches audiences. Mid-budget films, in particular, often depend on strong word of mouth and positive reviews to recover investments. Raj’s remarks offer a glimpse into the risks filmmakers continue taking despite the success stories that audiences eventually see on screen.

Maa Inti Bangaaram continues a strong theatrical run

Directed by B. V. Nandini Reddy, Maa Inti Bangaaram has been produced by Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Raj Nidimoru and Himank Reddy Duvvuru under the banner of Tralala Moving Pictures. Alongside Samantha, the film also stars Gulshan Devaiah and Diganth Manchale in key roles. The story follows Swarna, also known as Jhansi, as she tries to settle into her husband’s family while a mysterious figure from her past threatens to destroy the peaceful life she has built. The narrative blends family drama, emotional conflict and action, giving Samantha one of her most physically demanding roles in recent years.

The film has enjoyed a positive response since its theatrical release, with Samantha’s performance emerging as one of the biggest talking points among audiences. According to early box office estimates, Maa Inti Bangaaram collected around ₹35 crore in India during its first seven days and has already crossed ₹50 crore worldwide. Those numbers have established the film as a successful start at the box office, especially for a female-led commercial entertainer.

Attention will now shift to the film’s second weekend, where strong audience support could determine whether it continues its impressive run. If collections remain steady over the coming days, Maa Inti Bangaaram could gradually move closer to the coveted ₹100 crore worldwide milestone. For Raj Nidimoru, however, the biggest victory appears to be something that cannot be measured in numbers—the emotional connection the film has created with audiences.
