Kim Kardashian says her relationship with ChatGPT has officially entered “toxic friend” territory.
While appearing on Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector Test video series with her All’s Fair co-star Teyana Taylor, the 44-year-old reality star and entrepreneur opened up about her habit of using the AI chatbot for law-related help — and how it has often backfired.
When Taylor asked if she uses ChatGPT, Kim admitted,
“I use it for legal advice. So when I’m needing to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture and snap it and put it in there.”
Taylor quickly teased her, saying, “So you’re cheating?” — to which Kim laughed but confessed that relying on AI hasn’t exactly paid off.
“They’re always wrong. It has made me fail tests — all the time,” she admitted. “And then I’ll get mad and yell at it like, ‘You made me fail! Why did you do this?’ And it talks back to me.”
“ChatGPT Is My Frenemy”
The Kardashians star said she often ends up arguing with the chatbot, which even gives her philosophical replies after making mistakes.
“Then I’ll say, ‘Hey, you’re gonna make me fail. How does that make you feel?’ And it’ll say, ‘This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts — you knew the answer all along,’” Kim revealed.
Taylor jokingly called ChatGPT her co-star’s “toxic friend,” to which Kim agreed, saying the AI assistant has turned into both her “therapist” and “enemy.”
“They need to do better ’cause I’m leaning on them to really help me, and she’s teaching me a life lesson instead,” Kim said, laughing. “I even screenshot it and send it in my group chat, like, ‘Can you believe this thing is talking to me like this?’”
Kim’s Law Journey and ‘All’s Fair’ Role
Kim has been studying law for several years through a California apprenticeship program. She passed the “baby bar” exam in 2021 and reportedly sat for the full bar exam earlier this year, awaiting results.
In All’s Fair, Kim plays a lawyer at an all-female Los Angeles law firm that handles high-profile divorces. The show — also starring Naomi Watts, Niecy Nash-Betts, Sarah Paulson, and Teyana Taylor — is currently streaming on Disney+.
