Bollywood might finally be ready to revisit zombies — and this time with a very different tone. Producer Firoz Nadiadwala is lining up a new horror-comedy featuring Tiger Shroff and Shanaya Kapoor, and honestly, the pairing itself already feels like something fresh for the genre. The project is still untitled, but the intent is clear — bring back zombie comedy in a space where Bollywood hasn’t really explored much in recent years.
The film will be directed by Ahmed Khan, who has a long-standing association with Tiger. From Baaghi 2 to Baaghi 3 and Heropanti 2, their collaborations have mostly been high-energy action entertainers. That’s what makes this project slightly more interesting — it’s expected to push Tiger into comedy, something he hasn’t really explored properly yet.
Right now, plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, but the film is being described as a “fresh addition” to Bollywood’s comedy landscape. And to be fair, that space has been quite empty when it comes to zombie comedy. The last time audiences saw something similar was Go Goa Gone, which built a cult following over time. Since then, while horror-comedy as a genre has grown, zombies specifically haven’t really made a comeback.
There are, of course, a few related projects floating around. One of them is Pralay starring Ranveer Singh, but that one leans more toward action-thriller territory with a darker tone. In contrast, this Tiger–Shanaya film seems to be aiming for something lighter, more entertaining, and probably more commercial.
What’s also worth noting is the timing. Tiger currently has a packed schedule, juggling multiple films across genres. He’s working on Lag Jaa Gale with Janhvi Kapoor and Lakshya, followed by other projects like Vajra, which reportedly leans into mytho-action territory. So this zombie comedy will likely begin only after he wraps up those commitments.
For Shanaya Kapoor, this film adds another interesting step in her early career. After appearing in Tu Yaa Main, she’s also set to feature in JC alongside Abhay Verma. Pairing her with Tiger in a genre that relies heavily on chemistry and timing could turn out to be a defining moment, depending on how the script shapes up.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Khan is currently busy wrapping up Welcome to the Jungle, the next installment in the Welcome franchise. With a massive cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Johnny Lever, and Rajpal Yadav, that film is gearing up for a June 2026 release. Once that’s done, the zombie comedy is expected to move into production by the end of the year.
At this point, the film is still in early stages, so a lot can change. But the idea itself — a mainstream Bollywood zombie comedy with a new lead pairing — already feels like a genre shake-up. And if executed right, it could finally bring zombies back into the Hindi film conversation in a big way.
