LE SSERAFIM Wants to Perform in India as Group Opens Up About Guru Randhawa Collaboration and Indian Fans

India’s place in the global music industry has changed dramatically over the last few years. What was once considered a stop on international streaming charts is now becoming a priority destination for some of the world’s biggest artists. K-pop groups, Western musicians, and international acts are increasingly paying attention to the country’s growing fan culture, and LE SSERAFIM appears to be among them.

Fresh from the success of their second full-length album PUREFLOW pt.1, the five-member K-pop sensation is enjoying one of the strongest phases of its career. The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart, became the group’s fifth Top 10 entry on the Billboard 200, and crossed half a million physical sales during its opening week. As their global reach continues to expand, India has emerged as one of the markets the members are most curious about.

In a recent conversation, LE SSERAFIM members KIM CHAEWON, SAKURA, HUH YUNJIN, KAZUHA, and HONG EUNCHAE spoke about their growing connection with Indian audiences, their collaboration with Guru Randhawa, and why they hope an India concert becomes reality in the near future.

How Guru Randhawa Helped BOOMPALA Reach a New Audience

One of the biggest talking points from the group’s current era is BOOMPALA, a vibrant track built around themes of confidence, freedom, and letting go of fear. The song quickly attracted attention for its energetic production, but it gained an additional international flavour after LE SSERAFIM teamed up with Indian singer Guru Randhawa for a special remix version.

For the members, the collaboration became much more than simply adding a guest artist to a song. It offered a chance to blend two distinct musical cultures into something fresh. Discussing the experience, HONG EUNCHAE explained, “It was our first time collaborating with an artist from India, and we wanted to preserve the celebratory energy that BOOMPALA already had while also incorporating a sense of boldness and vibrancy that are characteristic of Indian pop music.”

She further added, “What was especially impressive to me was how our different musical backgrounds came together so naturally within a single track. It felt like the song evolved beyond a simple collaboration and expanded into something that resembles a global festival.”

The remix has also helped introduce LE SSERAFIM to new listeners who may not have previously followed K-pop closely. With Indian music increasingly influencing international collaborations, the partnership reflects a broader trend of artists looking beyond traditional markets and embracing global sounds.

Bollywood Left a Strong Impression on the Members

The group’s interest in India extends beyond music. Member KAZUHA revealed that she has explored Bollywood films and various forms of Indian entertainment, discovering similarities between the visual appeal of Indian cinema and the performance-driven nature of K-pop.

Sharing her thoughts, KAZUHA said, “When I watched Bollywood films and explored Indian content, I was struck by the same kind of powerful visual energy that I often associate with K-pop performances and choreography. I also found the unique character and colour of Indian music incredibly appealing.”

The collaboration with Guru Randhawa only strengthened that appreciation. According to her, seeing Indian musical influences blend naturally into BOOMPALA was both surprising and exciting. She stated, “Through the collaboration on BOOMPALA (feat. GURU RANDHAWA), it was fascinating to see how naturally those elements blended with BOOMPALA. It also made me excited to think that our music could reach people in even more parts of the world.”

That growing cultural exchange is becoming increasingly common as K-pop companies expand their international strategies. India, with its massive youth population and rapidly growing K-pop fanbase, has become an important region for labels seeking new audiences.

The Supergirl Project and LE SSERAFIM’s Message of Resilience

Beyond music collaborations, LE SSERAFIM recently entered another major global franchise through a partnership with Warner Bros. and DC. The group worked on CELEBRATION (Supergirl Ver.), connecting their music with one of DC’s most iconic superheroes.

The collaboration resonated strongly with the group’s core themes of perseverance and self-belief. While Supergirl’s story is rooted in loss, survival, and overcoming unimaginable challenges, LE SSERAFIM’s recent music has similarly focused on confronting fears and finding strength through vulnerability.

Reflecting on the crossover, HONG EUNCHAE explained, “I felt that the message of CELEBRATION resonates with the character of Supergirl.”

She continued, “To me, the collaboration goes beyond the song’s original message and broadens its emotional scope. If the original version was about celebrating the moment you confront your fears and find the strength to move forward, CELEBRATION (Supergirl Ver.) takes that emotion a step further and expresses a sense of confidence, empowerment, and freedom that comes after overcoming those fears. Because of that, I felt all of these elements came together naturally and connected as part of the same story.”

LE SSERAFIM Says It Wants to Meet Indian FEARNOTs Soon

While LE SSERAFIM’s ongoing PUREFLOW world tour is currently expanding across North America and Europe, Indian fans continue pushing for the group to include India in future tour plans. The demand has become increasingly visible online, with fans regularly campaigning for a concert and highlighting the size of the group’s support base in the country.

The members appear fully aware of that enthusiasm. Asked about the possibility of performing in India one day, HONG EUNCHAE made it clear that the group would love to experience that energy firsthand.

“I’ve heard that FEARNOT in India are incredibly passionate,” she said. “I think our performances are truly brought to life with the audience, so I’m especially looking forward to experiencing Indian FEARNOT’s energy firsthand. I hope we’ll have the chance to meet them very soon!”

As LE SSERAFIM continues breaking records and expanding into new territories, the group’s connection with India seems to be growing naturally. Whether through collaborations with Indian artists, admiration for Bollywood, or conversations about future concerts, the relationship is becoming increasingly visible.

For the members, however, success is still tied to one central idea. Reflecting on the group’s journey and philosophy, HUH YUNJIN shared, “Once you face fear, you will struggle with fear again… But in the end, I think the ultimate definition of power for LE SSERAFIM has always been, and will always be, resilience: the ability to keep getting back up and believing in yourself.”

With a successful album, a world tour, and growing global recognition, that mindset appears to be serving LE SSERAFIM quite well.
