Less than a month after wrapping up its theatrical run, The Raja Saab is heading to OTT. The Prabhas-led entertainer is all set to stream on JioHotstar, giving fans another chance to catch the film — this time from the comfort of their homes.
The Telugu arm of JioHotstar confirmed the news on Friday, announcing that the film will premiere digitally on February 6.
When and Where to Watch The Raja Saab
Sharing a poster on X (formerly Twitter), JioHotstar Telugu teased the release with the caption, “Mana time start ayyindhi (Our time has started). This Feb 6th, step into the trance of India’s Biggest Superstar on JioHotstar.”
The announcement immediately sparked chatter online, with several fans surprised by how quickly the film made its way to OTT. While some questioned the early digital release, others felt the horror-comedy might find a better audience response once it reaches streaming viewers.
Box Office Performance So Far
Despite mixed reactions during its theatrical run, The Raja Saab put up respectable numbers at the box office. According to Sacnilk:
- India nett collection: ₹144.93 crore
- India gross: ₹172.90 crore
- Overseas gross: ₹34.25 crore
- Worldwide total: ₹207.15 crore
While the film didn’t turn into a runaway blockbuster, its worldwide total crossed the ₹200 crore mark — a solid figure for a genre-blending horror comedy.
Cast, Crew, and Film Details
Directed by Maruthi, the film was produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner. Alongside Prabhas, the ensemble cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, and Zarina Wahab.
The film mixes supernatural elements with comedy, positioning itself as a lighter, mass-friendly entertainer rather than a straight-up horror outing.
What Prabhas Said About the Film
Earlier, Prabhas had spoken about how The Raja Saab came together, explaining that the idea was to move away from non-stop action films and give audiences a full-fledged entertainer. He also praised Maruthi’s writing, especially the climax, calling it one of the most striking elements he had heard in a horror-comedy script.
Final Words
With its OTT release arriving quickly, The Raja Saab now gets a second shot at audience appreciation. Horror comedies often perform better on streaming platforms, where viewers can enjoy the mix of scares and laughs at their own pace.
Whether it wins over those who skipped the theatrical run or sparks fresh discussions online, all eyes will be on how Prabhas’ genre experiment performs once it lands on JioHotstar this February.
