Actor Aishwarya Rajesh has shared a deeply unsettling incident from her early years, recalling how she was almost exploited during a photoshoot long before she became a recognised name in Tamil and Telugu cinema.

Speaking on a podcast with Nikhil Vijayendra Simha, the actor reflected on an experience that left her confused, shaken, and questioning how often such situations may have happened to other young girls.

“I Was So Young, It Confused Me”

Aishwarya revealed that the incident occurred when she was very young and had not yet entered the film industry. She went to a photoshoot accompanied by her brother, assuming it was a routine opportunity.

According to the actor, the situation took a disturbing turn when the photographer asked her brother to wait outside. She was then handed lingerie and told to wear it so the photographer could “see her body.”

She admitted that her age and lack of exposure left her unsure of how to react. When the photographer and others present tried to convince her that it was normal, she almost believed that this was something she was expected to do.

What Made Her Walk Away

Aishwarya said that what ultimately stopped her was an instinctive need to involve her brother. She told them she needed his permission — not because she planned to ask him, but because it gave her a way out.

Instead of confronting the situation further, she left immediately with her brother.

Looking back, the actor said the incident deeply unsettled her, especially the realisation that if she had been persuaded a little more, she might have complied. The thought of how many other young girls could have been put in similar positions stayed with her.

A Life Shaped by Early Hardships

Aishwarya’s journey into cinema was never easy. She comes from a film family — her father was Telugu actor Rajesh — but he passed away when she was very young. Her mother, dancer Nagamani, raised the family through immense personal loss, including the deaths of two of Aishwarya’s brothers.

Growing up in Chennai, Aishwarya worked multiple odd jobs to support herself before entering the industry. She also shared that her father had lost his savings by investing in film production before his death, leaving the family financially strained.

From Struggle to Recognition

Aishwarya began as a child artist and later made her formal debut in Tamil cinema before gaining widespread recognition with Kaaka Muttai, a turning point in her career.

In recent years, she has continued to balance meaningful roles across industries, with 2025 releases including the Telugu film Sankranthiki Vasthunam and the Tamil film Theeyavar Kulai Nadunga.

Final Words

Aishwarya Rajesh’s account isn’t just about one disturbing incident — it highlights a larger, uncomfortable reality about exploitation, power imbalance, and how vulnerable young aspirants can be before they understand the industry.

By speaking openly, she adds her voice to an ongoing conversation about safety, consent, and accountability — reminding everyone that success often comes with stories that were never meant to be part of the journey.
