After nearly two weeks of unstoppable momentum, Aditya Dhar’s spy action spectacle Dhurandhar finally saw a breather — but not before scripting box office history. The Ranveer Singh and Akshaye Khanna starrer wrapped up its second week with its lowest single-day collection so far, a slowdown that arrived just hours before Hollywood giant Avatar: Fire and Ash entered Indian cinemas.
Yet, even with this dip, Dhurandhar remains very much in command of the box office conversation.
A Rare Dip, But Nothing Close to a Collapse
On Day 14 (Thursday), Dhurandhar earned an estimated ₹23 crore net in India across languages. It marked the film’s first noticeable slowdown since its December 5 release, ending a long streak of ₹25 crore-plus daily numbers.
Trade watchers believe the timing of the dip — right before the release of Avatar: Fire and Ash — played a role, with audiences briefly pausing before the next big theatrical event.
Week 2 That Rewrote Hindi Cinema Records
Despite the softer Thursday, Dhurandhar delivered a record-shattering second week. The film collected an estimated ₹253.5 crore net in Week 2, officially becoming the highest second-week grosser in Hindi film history.
Even more impressively, it emerged as the first Hindi film ever to cross ₹200 crore net in its second week, overtaking the previous benchmark held by Pushpa 2: The Rule.
What truly sets it apart is that Dhurandhar’s second week outperformed its opening week, which stood at ₹207.25 crore net — a rare and remarkable feat.
Occupancy Holds Strong Through the Day
On Thursday, December 18, the film recorded an overall 32.35% Hindi occupancy. Morning shows opened modestly at 18.28%, but footfalls steadily climbed as the day progressed.
Evening shows saw occupancy jump to 38.08%, while night shows peaked at 40.97%, suggesting that audience interest remains strong despite growing competition.
India Gross Smashes Past ₹550 Crore
With two weeks in the bag, Dhurandhar now stands at approximately ₹460.25 crore net in India. On the gross front, the film has comfortably crossed the ₹550 crore milestone, with India gross collections touching around ₹552 crore.
Notably, it crossed ₹500 crore India gross in just 13 days, placing it among the fastest films ever to achieve the feat.
A New Entry Into the Elite 500-Crore Club
Dhurandhar is now the 16th Indian film of all time to enter the ₹500 crore India gross club. It is also the third Indian film and second Bollywood film of 2025 to achieve this milestone.
The historic journey began with SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali: The Beginning in 2015. Since then, only a select group — spanning Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada cinema — has managed to reach this elite bracket.
Racing Toward the ₹500 Crore Net Milestone
So far, only 12 Indian films have crossed the ₹500 crore net mark. Dhurandhar is widely expected to become the 13th entrant in the coming days, potentially placing itself alongside modern box office heavyweights like Animal, Pathaan, Jawan, and Chhaava in terms of speed and scale.
Worldwide Total Crosses ₹700 Crore
The film’s overseas run has been equally solid. With an estimated ₹150 crore coming from international markets, Dhurandhar’s worldwide total now stands at around ₹702 crore at the end of Week 2.
With strong domestic legs and stable overseas traction, the global numbers continue to climb steadily.
The Avatar Test Begins
Friday marks Dhurandhar’s first real box office battle, with James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash hitting screens. The sci-fi tentpole is expected to open big, particularly in English-speaking urban markets.
However, trade experts believe Dhurandhar’s core Hindi belt audience could help it hold firm over the weekend, potentially pushing another ₹100 crore despite the clash.
Piracy Setback in Pakistan
On a less encouraging note, Dhurandhar reportedly became the most pirated film in Pakistan, with over 2 million illegal downloads after the film was banned in the country. Industry estimates suggest this may have resulted in losses of nearly ₹50 crore globally.

Final Words
A rare dip aside, Dhurandhar has delivered one of the most extraordinary second-week performances ever seen in Indian cinema. With massive domestic traction, solid overseas support, and strong word of mouth, the film now looks firmly positioned for an extended run.
Whether it ultimately reaches the coveted ₹1,000 crore worldwide club remains to be seen — but for now, Dhurandhar has already secured its place in the history books.
