Some weekends are about romance. Some are about cricket.

For Tu Yaa Main, Day 3 clearly belonged to the latter. The survival drama starring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor saw a sharp dip on Sunday as the much-awaited India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup clash kept audiences glued to their screens at home.

Day 3 Collection: Major Sunday Drop

As per early estimates from Sacnilk, Tu Yaa Main collected just ₹75 lakh on its third day.

After showing some momentum on Valentine’s Day (Day 2), the Bejoy Nambiar directorial couldn’t sustain the growth. The nationwide cricket frenzy proved too strong, with most moviegoers choosing the high-voltage match over a theatre visit.

With this, the film’s total after three days stands at approximately ₹2.80 crore.

Day-Wise Breakdown

The film opened modestly at ₹65 lakh on Day 1.

On Day 2 — which coincided with Valentine’s Day — it saw a healthy jump, collecting ₹1.45 crore. Positive word-of-mouth and the romantic timing helped boost numbers temporarily.

However, Sunday’s cricket showdown brought collections back down, limiting Day 3 to ₹75 lakh.

For a film already battling for visibility, the timing turned out to be unfortunate.

Mixed Reviews, But Performance Praised

Directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Tu Yaa Main is an official adaptation of the Thai thriller The Pool.

The story has been written by Himanshu Sharma, with screenplay and dialogues by Abhishek Bandekar.

Critically, the film has received mixed-to-positive responses. While many praised Adarsh Gourav for his committed performance and screen presence, some reviews pointed out pacing issues in the second half. Shanaya Kapoor’s performance has also drawn attention, especially among younger audiences.

The film is backed by producers including Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma, among others.

Box Office Face-Off

Interestingly, the film released alongside O Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri. While O Romeo also saw a Day 3 dip, it managed to close its opening weekend at ₹30.15 crore — far ahead in the race.

That comparison makes Tu Yaa Main’s struggle even more visible.

Final Words

Cricket and cinema have always shared a complicated relationship at the Indian box office. When India plays Pakistan, everything else takes a backseat — including new releases.

For Tu Yaa Main, the real test now begins. If weekday collections hold steady and word-of-mouth grows stronger, the survival drama might still find its audience.

But for now, Day 3 clearly belonged to the stadium, not the silver screen.
