Rohit Shetty Firing Case

What began as a shocking late-evening incident outside filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s Mumbai residence has now snowballed into a major criminal investigation.

The Mumbai Crime Branch has confirmed multiple arrests in connection with the firing outside the director’s Juhu home, with the total number of accused detained rising to 11.

What Happened Outside Rohit Shetty’s Home?

On January 31, unidentified assailants reportedly fired four rounds outside Rohit Shetty’s residential building in Juhu. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Police teams rushed to the spot immediately, secured the area, and collected ballistic evidence. An attempted murder case was registered, and heavy security was deployed around the filmmaker’s residence soon after.

The situation escalated further when a social media post allegedly linked to the jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang claimed responsibility for the attack.

11 Arrested So Far

According to reports, six more individuals were recently arrested from Rajasthan and are being brought to Mumbai for further interrogation.

Earlier, five suspects from Pune were detained, including Aman Anand Marote, Aditya Gyaneshwar Gayaki, Siddharth Deepak Yenpure, Samarth Shivsharan Pomaji and Swapnil Bandu Sakat.

Investigators have also identified a key accused, Asaram Fasle, who allegedly supplied weapons used in the firing. Authorities claim Fasle had been associated with the Bishnoi network for nearly four years and was influenced by Shubham Lonkar — the alleged mastermind in the Baba Siddiqui murder case.

As per the Crime Branch’s statement, Fasle handed over the weapons to one of the accused, which eventually reached the unidentified shooter.

Police have even recreated the sequence of events, retracing the accused’s scooter route from Pune to Mumbai as part of the probe.

Security Tightened Across Bollywood

The incident comes amid a string of reported threats to film personalities.

Actor Ranveer Singh allegedly received a WhatsApp voice note demanding ₹10 crore in ransom. Meanwhile, actor Ayush Sharma was reportedly sent a threatening email linked to the same network.

The Bishnoi gang has previously issued threats to Salman Khan, referencing the long-standing Blackbuck poaching case from the Hum Saath Saath Hain shoot.

In response to the escalating concerns, security around Rohit Shetty has reportedly been strengthened significantly, particularly as he continues work on his upcoming projects.

Final Words

The firing outside Rohit Shetty’s residence marks a disturbing development in what appears to be a broader pattern of threats targeting film personalities.

While no one was harmed, the arrests and ongoing investigation highlight the seriousness of the situation. For now, the focus remains on tightening security and ensuring accountability as Mumbai Police continue their probe.

In an industry built on spectacle, this is one story no one wanted to see unfold.
