Raveena Tandon isn’t holding back when it comes to praising good cinema — even if that means jokingly apologising to a fellow actress.
In a recent chat with Zoom, Raveena Tandon revealed that after watching Dhurandhar, she immediately called Yami Gautam — not to critique the film, but to say “sorry.”
The reason? She thinks Yami’s husband, filmmaker Aditya Dhar, is an absolute genius.
“You Have to Share My Attention”
Raveena shared that she was blown away by Dhurandhar and couldn’t stop praising Aditya Dhar’s direction. In fact, she told Yami that she might have to share her attention because she has become such a big admirer of her husband’s work.
According to her, films like Dhurandhar, Pushpa, and KGF have brought back the larger-than-life heroism that audiences were missing. She believes viewers today want to see powerful protagonists rooted in their own soil, dealing with real national and emotional conflicts — and emerging victorious.
For Raveena, that cinematic satisfaction is what makes mass entertainers click again.
Full Praise for the Cast
The film, headlined by Ranveer Singh, clearly left an impression on her. She also praised performances across the board — mentioning actors like Sanjay, Akshay, Sara, Rakesh Bedi and Gaurav Gera for their work in the film.
When told that Ranveer considers himself her fan, Raveena laughed it off, joking that he was just a 10-year-old when he once came to see her perform one of her popular songs.
That playful energy aside, her admiration for the film sounded genuine.
Waiting for Part 2
Raveena is now eagerly awaiting Dhurandhar Part 2: The Revenge, which is slated to release on March 19, 2026. Interestingly, the sequel will clash at the box office with Toxic: Not A Fairytale Romance, starring Yash — setting up an intense theatrical face-off.
What’s Next for Raveena?
On the work front, Raveena will next be seen in Welcome To The Jungle, the third installment in the popular Welcome franchise. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Lara Dutta, Shreyas Talpade, Daler Mehndi and Krushna Abhishek.
Directed by Ahmed Khan, the ensemble entertainer is set to hit theatres on June 26, 2026.
Final Words
Raveena Tandon’s candid “sorry” to Yami Gautam may have been playful, but her praise for Dhurandhar speaks volumes.
In an industry where competition often dominates headlines, it’s refreshing to see open appreciation for strong filmmaking. And if Raveena’s reaction is anything to go by, audiences can expect the sequel to carry even bigger expectations.
