A new chapter begins — and this time, it’s deeply personal. Former ENHYPEN member Lee Heeseung has officially stepped into his solo era under a new name: EVAN.
Along with the name reveal, new social media handles and fresh profile visuals have been rolled out, signaling a complete reset. According to BELIFT LAB, the concept captures an artist at the very beginning — before expectations, labels, or outside definitions take over.
And the name isn’t random.
Heeseung shared that “EVAN” is something he has held onto since childhood — a name tied to personal memories and identity. Now, he’s choosing to build his music around that version of himself, promising something more honest and unfiltered.
That shift feels intentional.
Because his exit from ENHYPEN wasn’t quiet. It sparked intense reactions from fans, many of whom believed he could balance both group and solo careers. Discussions around agency decisions, scheduling pressure, and creative freedom quickly followed.
Heeseung, however, addressed it directly.
In a message to fans, he explained that continuing both paths might have affected the group’s activities, and he didn’t want to prioritize himself over the team. It was a decision framed around fairness — though it didn’t stop fans from questioning the system behind it.
Now, with EVAN, that conversation shifts.
Instead of what could have been, the focus is on what’s coming next.
And there are early signs of momentum. During fan interactions, he confirmed that a solo project is already in the works, with hints pointing toward a possible release as early as May. Given his track record — contributing to songs like Highway 1009 and Dial Tragedy — expectations are naturally high.
What sets him apart is versatility. Heeseung wasn’t just known for vocals, but also for his stage presence and involvement in songwriting and production. That foundation gives EVAN a strong starting point — not as a beginner, but as an artist refining his identity.
Meanwhile, ENHYPEN continues as a six-member group, moving forward with Sunghoon, Jungwon, Sunoo, Jay, Jake, and Ni-ki. The group remains active, but there’s no doubt that Heeseung’s departure has changed its dynamic.
For EVAN, though, this is less about leaving something behind and more about stepping into something new.
A new name, a new sound, and a chance to define himself without limits — the real test now isn’t the transition, but how he builds from here.
