Bollywood actor Shreyas Talpade has landed in legal trouble after being named in an FIR registered in Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri district over an alleged investment scam. The complaint, filed on February 10 at Bhogaon police station, has triggered a formal investigation.
As of now, the actor has not issued a public statement addressing the allegations.
What the FIR Alleges
According to reports cited by ANI, a resident of Mohalla Mishrana accused Talpade and 12 others of cheating him out of lakhs of rupees under the pretext of an investment scheme.
The complaint claims that villagers were allegedly persuaded to invest money through what was described as a Mumbai bank-linked scheme operating in the town. The complainant has alleged that the funds were misappropriated, prompting legal action.
Following a court directive, local police have initiated a probe into the matter. Authorities are expected to record statements and examine financial records as part of the investigation.
At this stage, the allegations remain under investigation, and no conclusions have been drawn.
A Career Spanning Two Industries
Talpade has built a steady career across Hindi and Marathi cinema. He first gained widespread recognition with Iqbal, where his performance as a hearing- and speech-impaired aspiring cricketer earned critical praise.
He later appeared in films such as Dor, Om Shanti Om, and the popular Golmaal franchise, carving a niche in both dramatic and comic roles.
What’s Next on Screen
On the professional front, Talpade is set to appear in Welcome to the Jungle, the third installment of the Welcome franchise directed by Ahmed Khan.
The film features a massive ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, and several others. The comedy entertainer is scheduled for theatrical release on June 26, 2026.
Final Words
At present, this remains an allegation under investigation, with police proceedings underway. Until official findings emerge or the actor responds publicly, the case stands as a developing legal matter.
For now, the focus shifts to the investigation — and to whether Talpade will address the controversy in the coming days.
